Step-1) Download and install the eSoftTools PDF Locker and Unlocker on your Windows computer.

Launch the software, choose "Unlock PDF File" from the main interface, and click on the "Next" button to proceed.

Step-2) Add your password-protected PDF files using one of the following options:
  • Select PDF File:- Add individual PDF files for unlocking.
  • Select PDF Folder:- Add an entire folder of PDFs for batch unlocking.

Step-3) After selecting the files, preview the list and click "Next" to continue.

Step-4) Apply these steps in the next opened screen :
  • Click the Save button to set the output folder where unlocked files will be saved.
  • Press the large Save button to begin the unlocking process.

Enter the PDF's correct password when prompted to unlock the document.

Once the process completes, a confirmation message will appear.

Click OK and close the software. You can now access your unlocked PDF documents in the chosen output folder.

Add Password Protection and Encrypt Your PDF Document
Step-1) Download, Install eSoftTools PDF Unlock/Lock Software on your Windows PC.

Launch the application and select the "Lock PDF Files" option from the initial screen. Then, click "Next" to proceed with the encryption process.

Step-2) Select your PDF files for encryption:
  • Select PDF File - Insert single PDF documents from your local drive.
  • Select PDF Folder - Insert a folder containing multiple PDFs for batch processing.

Choose the appropriate option based on your needs and click Next.

Step-3) Configure the encryption settings and restrictions for your PDF document. Choose the which type of encryption you want to add on website.

Note: You can select "All" to add all encryptions or select specific from the available list of options: -

  • Document Actions:
    • Disable Printing - Prevent users from printing the document.
    • Disable Content Copying - Restrict users from copying text or images from the document.
    • Disable Editing File Content - Block modifications to the document's original content.
  • Forms & Comments:
    • Disable Filling Forms - Restrict users from filling out any forms present in the document.
    • Disable Modifying Annotations - Prevent any changes or edits to existing comments and annotations within the PDF.
  • Accessibility Options:
    • Disable Screen Reader Access - Prevent screen readers from accessing the content.
  • Assembly Restrictions:
    • Disable Rearranging Pages - Lock the page order, preventing users from reordering or combining pages within the document.

Once you've configured the desired settings, click Next to proceed with applying the restrictions and encrypting your PDF document.

Step-4) Choose a destination to save the encrypted PDF:

Click on Save and select a folder where you would like to save the password-protected PDF document.

Step-5) After selecting the destination, click Save to input a password for adding encryption to your PDF file and click on Ok.

Step-6) Once the encryption process is complete, click "OK" to exit the software. Your encrypted PDF file is now ready and secured with the selected password and restrictions.
