Download and run eSoftTools MBOX Compress Software on your windows computer.
After launching the software, press Add File/Folder button from first screen.
Step-2)
Choose any one of these options to insert MBOX files: -
- Select MBOX File: - Add one MBOX file at a time.
- Select MBOX Folder: - Load a folder with multiple MBOX files
- Auto-Load Thunderbird Profile: - Automatically load all Thunderbird Profile mail folders/files.
After inserting the location of files, click on the Next button.
Load mail folders from the selected MBOX files and preview emails from them in the software's preview panel
Choose necessory folders and click on the Compress MBOX button.
Apply the required settings for MBOX file Compression from the next opened screen, like: -
- Conversion options
- Filtering Attachment Extension
- Filter Email
- Saving Location
MBOX File Compression Settings
Conversion Options: - Use any one of these options to remove or compress MBOX email attachments: -
- Remove Attachment and Save MBOX file: - Generate new MBOX files and export emails without attachments from your old MBOX files to new MBOX files.
- Remove Attachment from MBOX and Save Attachments: - Export emails without attachments from old MBOX to new MBOX and store attachments separately from emails.
- Compress Attachment and Save MBOX File: - Import emails with attachments in new MBOX files and compress those attachments into ZIP files.
- Remove Attachment from MBOX and compress and save Attachments: - Emails will be imported from the old MBOX to the new MBOX without attachments and MBOX compresses the attachments of the emails into zip files and saves them in a separate location.
- Save Attachment Message-Wise: - Create folders by email and provide names according to their subject and store related attachments.
- Save Attachment Folder-Wise: - Create a separate folder for each MBOX file and store all email attachments of each MBOX.
- Filtering Attachment Extensions: - Filter extensions to remove/compress attachments from MBOX file specifically: -
- Predefined File Extension: - Select the file extensions of attachments from the available list.
- Custom File Extension: - Type the extension of attachments manually to remove and compress them from MBOX.
- Filter Email: - Select the dates of emails from which you want to delete or compress attachments.
- Manual Selection: - Click the Browse button and select any location from your drive to store the newly generated MBOX files and extracted attachments
- Save in Thunderbird: - Automatically, software will import the new MBOX files and attachments to Thunderbird's local folders.
Save Attachment: - choose the mode of saving extracted attachments
Destination Path: - choose the mode of saving the the resultant MBOX files while Compression
Step-5)
Finally, click on the Compress Now button and start the MBOX file compression job.
